Celebrate the new year and Hogmany in Scotland

Can think of no better way to celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a new year than by linking arms and sing "for Auld Lang Syne", the world famous mantra written by very own renowned poet Scotland and lyricist, Robert Burns?

No there is no better way, and there is a better location than for the new year than Scotland. Therefore for a vacation truly memorable family new year in Scotland would be better get their skates in order to book the best accommodation family in Scotland holidays to celebrate the new year, better known as Hogmanay in Scotland.

Do you know why 'first to pay' takes place or why coal traditionally receives owners by friendly callers just after midnight?

'Days of yore' the last day of December would be spent cleaning, washing and cleaning the House, as it is considered bad luck to welcome the impure year again to a House. Once cleaned thoroughly, families wear their homes with Hazel, Holly, yew branches in order to protect the family and the House of bad luck.

To protect themselves from disease and bring good luck, mistletoe and rowan tree parts would be hung above the doors and Juniper might be burned (because of its spicy fragrance that was burned as an antiseptic). It would be open not only to allow fresh clean air to the House, but to welcome the new year on the doors. In the immediate wake of midnight, neighbors call bringing good luck gifts owners, such as coal, shortbread, whisky and a black bun (a fruit cake) - an act known as the 'first footer'.

The celebration of new year in Scotland means four days of the parts of the streets, spectacular events, concerts and animated Scottish céilidh (pronounced kaylees) - Scottish dances where couples are carried out in a ring of sounds from a variety of instruments.

During December and until around 4 January each year, the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are city with Christmas markets and fair attractions, track ice each too. Although Christmas markets closes before Christmas, Christmas of Villa Highlands in this Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh this year market will remain open until January 4. You can find food, crafts and jewelry here, as well as some hats Hogmanay whacky.

Many family attractions remain until early January... Princes Street Gardens becomes a magical winter for kids - Wonderland country there are walks carousel, a helter-skelter, corner of childhood, a giant inflatable snow globe and a huge wheel Christmas - from the top which you get views of long-range in Edinburgh. Ice skating track has the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, and hot food stalls sell mulled wine, empanadas mince and shortbread.

Is not true all wonderful fun Sonida for a family break new year in Scotland? But... as noted above, need to get your skates not only for use in ice tracks but to ensure that you can find accommodation in Scotland during the new year and to be sure of not miss the spectacle of thousands of carriers of torch walking through the streets of Edinburgh to mark the opening of the world-famous Hogmanay celebrations. It must not be lost.
